TROVE TALKS
Money Mindset + Moisturizer
Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about how beauty and abundance intertwine. Not just in the aesthetic sense, but in the energy we hold while doing the simplest things. Like applying moisturizer.
It hit me one morning while I was going through my skincare routine half-asleep, mentally spiraling about money and whether I was "doing enough." As I pressed my moisturizer into my skin, a gentle voice inside whispered, What if this is part of it? What if abundance starts right here?
Money mindset work often feels like this big, abstract concept. Journaling. Affirmations. Reading the books. Visualizing your dream bank balance. And don’t get me wrong — I love all of that. But I’m learning that your relationship with money is also reflected in how you show up for yourself in tiny ways.
Because the energy of lack and the energy of abundance feel very different.
Lack says: "You don't deserve the good stuff until you earn it."
Abundance says: "You're allowed to enjoy beauty, even in the becoming."
So now, when I do my skincare routine, I try to slow down. I take a moment to feel the texture of my moisturizer. I say thank you. I remind myself that nourishment doesn’t have to be earned — it’s a birthright. That small shift in energy? It adds up.
Here are a few things I’m trying lately to align my money mindset with softness and self-trust:
Mini abundance rituals: Lighting a candle before checking emails. Using the "fancy" body lotion on a random Tuesday. Making my coffee feel like a café experience.
Affirmations that feel good: I say things like "I trust that money flows to me in expected and unexpected ways" or "I am open to receiving support."
Releasing the guilt: If I need rest, I take it. If I buy something small that brings me joy, I let myself enjoy it without the shame spiral.
The truth is: how we treat ourselves when no one’s watching says a lot about what we believe we deserve.
So if you’re navigating financial anxiety, a career pivot, or just feeling unsure right now — know that the way you gently press serum into your skin matters. The way you let yourself feel beautiful matters. These aren’t frivolous acts. They’re energetic declarations.
You’re saying: I am worthy of care. I am worthy of ease. I trust that more is coming.
Money mindset isn’t just about spreadsheets and goals. It’s also about softening into belief. It’s about finding abundance in your rituals, in your breath, in your skincare routine.
And sometimes? That $12 moisturizer is a love letter to your future self.
With love (and dewy skin),
